Dr. Jason Howard is a Lecturer of Music at Westminster College where he has taught since 2007. Previously, he taught at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Kent State University, Youngstown State University, and Mt. de Chantal Visitation Academy.
Howard is an active composer who has received commissions from several individuals and organizations including Grammy nominee John Turk, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra bassist Micah Howard, the Dana Chamber Orchestra, and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. In addition to producing pieces for chamber, vocal and symphonic ensembles, Howard also composed the film score for The Still Unknown.
As a cellist, Howard is a founding member of The Howard String Quartet, principal cellist with the Dana New Music Festival Chamber Orchestra, a tenured member of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra.
Howard holds a Ph.D. in music theory and composition from Kent State University. He completed his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music at Youngstown State University.
