Ligo named series producer for PBS show

Congratulations to Joe Ligo '16 who has shifted from the fast lane of PBS's "Motor Week" to an ambitious challenge at "Maryland Farm & Harvest." Ligo is the showrunner and series producer for the Emmy Award-winning program. And the new position connects him to his hometown roots in Western Pennsylvania. He grew up on a family farm in Mercer County where he worked in the fields baling hay, feeding cattle and helped his father fix tractors. Ligo’s passion for motors took him to "Motor Week" where he appeared on-air, produced and edited segments. Now he’ll serve as the series producer for Maryland Public Television‘s show about the stories and people shaping agriculture.

"Farm & Harvest" is  dedicated to putting “a human face on farming, educates viewers about agriculture, and tells the stories of the industry that built this nation and continues to feed the world.”

Ligo is also the mastermind behind the classic car web series "Automoments," which he started as an undergraduate at Westminster College. Some of his YouTube programs have with over 4.5 million views.
