Students study the world through language, culture, literature, and international travel while focusing on acquiring proficiency in French. This proficiency consists of four basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The French minor explores language acquisition and French-language literature as well as the languageā€™s global cultural influences.

Westminster College does not offer a major in French; however, students who are interested in pursuing French as a field of study are invited to consult the program faculty to construct an Individual Interdisciplinary Major.

Students who are seeking certification to teach French (K-12) may pursue an Interdisciplinary Major in French Education. Please contact program coordinator Dr. Jesse Mann for more information.
