If you were to ask alumna Jennifer Gandolfi how she landed her current job before graduating in the Spring of 2017, she would attribute her success to what she calls the “Westminster network.” In October, Jennifer begins her journey as a staff auditor for Crowe Horwath LLP, an accounting firm that provides a range of services to financial institution and other clients in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Thanks to the support of a committed professor and a helping hand from a recent alum, Jennifer is a direct outcome of the extensive network she believes makes Westminster unique.

“Westminster truly prepares you for post-grad life and its network consists of genuine people who share a drive and work ethic that precipitates success,” said Jennifer. “I owe my current job to the Westminster network.”

As an undergraduate, Jennifer was forwarded an email from alumnus Dan Bishop ’15 about opportunities at Crowe Horwath. Through connecting with Dan, she learned all about the firm and was able to use him as a reference when she applied. After landing a phone interview, Crowe Horwath offered her an opportunity to attend a leadership conference in Chicago where she met with a partner from the firm. The following week, she received a phone call offering her a full-time position post-graduation. Through the power of networking, Jennifer accomplished what many, if not all, college seniors dream of— a job lined up after graduation.

Jennifer credits Professor Ligo and his wife, Amy, for preparing and inspiring her journey at Westminster.

“Professor Ligo and Amy genuinely care about and are proud of the success of all of his students. He's a great teacher, and I honestly can say that I felt best prepared from his courses when I was studying for the CPA exam. His classes went further than just teaching us the course material, but we learned about real-life application.”
