Westminster College has named Tricia Ryan director of its School of Nursing, the result of a collaborative agreement with UPMC Jameson School of Nursing.

Westminster’s School of Nursing will launch its inaugural program in Fall Semester 2017, leading to both a nursing diploma and a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree in the new four-year program.

“I felt very drawn to Westminster to develop a unique nursing program that is much needed in our community,” Ryan added. “I am fortunate to be able to collaborate with UPMC Jameson to provide the education and support needed for our nursing students to be successful in today’s healthcare environments.”

Ryan comes to Westminster from Sharon Regional Health System, where she held various nursing and administrative positions, most recently as the program administrator and director in the School of Nursing.

She earned a nursing diploma (RN) from Sharon Regional Health System’s School of Nursing, a bachelor of science degree (BS) with a major in nursing from The Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) education from Robert Morris University, where she is pursuing a doctorate in instructional management and leadership (Ph.D. IML). She is a certified nurse educator (CNE); is licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York; and holds CPR instructor certification (BLS), CPR certification – healthcare provider and advanced cardiac life support certification (ACLS).
