Westminster College to Celebrate the Arts with School of Music Concert

Westminster College’s School of Music ensembles will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, in Will W. Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The following ensembles will be performing:

·       Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig

·       Chamber Singers, conducted by Dr. Samuel Barbara

·       Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Timothy Winfield

·       Opera Westminster, directed by Dr. Anne Bentz

·       Ceol na Teud, a Scottish fiddling group, led by Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu

·       Saxophone Quartet, coached by Dr. James Flowers

·       Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Crawford Perttu

Nearly 100 Westminster students, including music majors, music minors and students from other disciplines, are participating in this event. The concert is designed to celebrate Westminster’s arts during We in Westminster, a week-long celebration in honor of Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson’s inauguration on Friday, Oct. 28.
