Westminster College Orchestra to Present Concert

The Westminster College orchestra will present “Night of the Dance” Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program includes: Dvořák’s “Prague Waltzes,” “Danse Macabre” by Saint Saëns, Respighi’s “Ancient Airs and Dances for Lute, Suite I” and “Dance of the Tumblers” by Rimsky-Korsakov.

In addition to the Westminster students, the orchestra includes community members as well as Westminster faculty Dr. Robert Knop, associate professor of physics, playing viola and music adjuncts Robin Hasenpflug playing cello and Cory Palmer playing bass.

The orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, assistant professor of music.
