The New Wilmington Mission Conference (NWMC) will host its 111th conference July 23 – 29 at Westminster College. The events and meetings are free and open to the public.

NWMC is an intergenerational and diverse mission conference. More than 30 states and 20 countries are represented among the 800+ registered attendees who span all ages. During the week, more than 25 missionaries will share their stories of successes and difficulties in multiple settings.

According to its mission statement, The New Wilmington Mission Conference’s purpose is to invite “all to be transformed by the Spirit of God, to be inspired, called, equipped and sent into God's mission.”

During the week, youth will have a hands-on experience of packing meals for Stop Hunger Now, an organization with a mission to “end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable.”

Adults can participate in Bible studies and hear from missionaries in a variety of different capacities. Child care and programs for school-aged children are offered.

Evening meetings will take place at 6:45 p.m. at Anderson Auditorium (amphitheater) each day, offering dynamic worship music and a diverse group of speakers. Vespers services follow at 8:15 p.m.

This year, NWMC will celebrate 56 years of international summer service. At 9:15 p.m. Monday, July 25, and at 6:45 p.m. Friday, July 29, the 2016 Summer Service team will share their experiences in Central Asia.

About NWPC…

NWMC began as a Presbyterian mission conference for young adults in 1906. It has retained its Presbyterian roots and connections, and has expanded to promote the broader Christian witness in the world. The theme verse from Acts 1:8 (“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”) highlights the Christian calling to bear witness to Jesus in every place and in every context of our lives.

According to its mission, the New Wilmington Mission Conference’s purpose is to “invite all to be transformed by the Spirit of God, to be inspired, called, equipped and sent into God's mission.”
