At the end of the the spring semester, Westminster College psychology students were recognized for their excellent work.

Students honored at this event included seniors for their capstone work; students inducted into psi chi, the psychology honorary society; and the awardee of the David B. Gray Social Action Award.

Kaitlyn Kosarek, Kaitlyn Krug, Haley Rich, and Robert Turk were inducted into Psi Chi.

Alexis Sheffer, psychology major, was awarded the David B. Gray Social Action Award for her civic and community work. Sheffer volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Special Olympics, Therapy Dogs International, Relay for Life, and the church mustard seed project.

“It’s very humbling to know the psychology department professors recognize students who impact the world and the community through other means than just psychology research,” said Sheffer.

Professors who attended this include, Dr. Sandra Webster, professor of psychology, Dr. Sherri Pataki, associate professor of psychology, Dr. Stephanie Richman, assistant professor of psychology, and Dr. Mandy Medvin, professor of psychology.

“Each year, we have this dinner to honor graduating seniors and Psi Chi inductees for their hard work and dedication to their psychology major,” said Medvin. “It also provides an opportunity for the psychology faculty to spend an enjoyable evening with great students.”
