Day by day, Westminster College is climbing the ranks! Just last month, Westminster announced their placement in the top 7% in the Educate to Career Index. Today, in the same study of 1,184 colleges and universities across the nation, Westminster climbed the ranks to number 30, stationed in top 2.5% in the nation.
According to their website, the Educate to Career Index is a “provider of facts, not opinions” and “the leading resource for information,” relating to post-graduation employment success.
The ranking is based on the following criteria: quality of students when they enter a given college, total costs related to attending the college, and the outcomes of the students when they enter the labor market. The rankings results are determined by which schools did the best job of improving the earnings and attainment of quality employment of their students.
“A Westminster education, a liberal arts education, prepares students for the world of work by giving them the skills employers say they want in their employees,” said Dr. Timothy Cuff, professor and division chair for social sciences and humanities. “Westminster graduates possess communication skills (oral and written), critical thinking skills which enable them to assess and critique the vast amounts of information now available with the click of a mouse, and a breadth of vision, an understanding of the workings of the world which will enable them to position themselves and the organizations which they serve appropriately as the world continues to change. The liberal arts at Westminster prepares our students for a flexible future in a world whose shape we do not know.”
