Westminster College Music Education Major to Perform Senior Recital

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College senior Christine Whited will present her senior capstone recital at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Whited will perform flute works by Phillippe Gaubert, Antonia Vivaldi, Gabriel Fauré, Alexander Tcherepnin, Samuel Barber, Katherine Hoover, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

While at Westminster, Whited has participated in numerous musical ensembles, including the Titan Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and the flute choir. She is also a member of the international music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, gained memberships in Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for teaching; Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity; and participates in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA).

Whited earned the Mina Gundish Simpson Scholarship Award, the Trustee Scholarship, and has been named to Westminster's Dean's List.

Whited studies in the flute studio of David Tessmer, adjunct professor of music. Whited is a daughter of James and Geni Whited and a graduate of Clearfield Area High School.
