Westminster College Music Majors to Present Recitals April 12-13

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Haley Hidock, a Westminster College business administration and music major, will present her senior recital Friday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr AuditoriumChristina Kinney, also a music major, will present her senior voice recital Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. Both concerts are free to the public.

Hidock will perform French horn selections from Hindemith, Bigot, Rimsky-Korsakov and a traditional Irish melody. The program explores different types of music and different sounds of the horn. Westminster adjunct music faculty member Jeff Wachter will provide piano accompaniment.

At Westminster, Hidock is a member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Titan Marching Band, Orchestra, Horn Ensemble, and Mu Phi Epsilon music fraternity. She was also selected to be part of the Pennsylvania Music Education Association (PMEA) Intercollegiate Band.

Hidock is from the studio of Westminster adjunct faculty member Robert Cole and former student of James Scanga.

Hidock is a daughter of John and Carol Hidock of New Bedford, PA and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School.

Kinney, a soprano, will perform works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Schubert, Mahler, Puccini, Satie and Britten. Wachter will provide piano accompaniment.   

At Westminster, Kinney is a member of Concert Choir, Opera Westminster, Theatre Westminster, Alpha Psi Omega theatre honorary society and Alpha Phi Omega co-ed service fraternity.

Kinney is a student of Westminster adjunct music faculty member Janet Kane.

Kinney is a daughter of James and Laura Kinney of Hillsborough, N.J., and is a graduate of Hillsborough High School.
