Westminster College Foster Art Gallery to Host Opening Nov. 5

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's Department of Communication Studies, Theatre and Art will host a gallery opening Monday, Nov. 5, from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Foster Art Gallery in Patterson Hall. The event is free to the public.

This exhibition will feature sculptural paintings by artist Danica Oudeans. The opening will include a gallery talk by the artist at 5 p.m.

The exhibition will run Nov. 5 - Dec. 7.  The Art Gallery is open Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The Art Gallery hosts six exhibits annually, one of which is the student/senior exhibit in March. Regional, national, and international artists are also brought to campus for exhibits and lectures.

Danica Oudeans is an artist and educator based in Madison, Wis.  She earned an undergraduate degree in studio art from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and earned a master's in painting from Miami University of Ohio.  She is currently an assistant professor of art at the University of Wisconsin-Colleges teaching studio art and art history courses.  A recent body of work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions over the last two years.
