Orchestra to Present Fall Concert Oct. 22

The Westminster College Orchestra will present its fall concert Friday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The program will include: Copland's "An Outdoor Overture," featuring a trumpet solo by junior music education major Andrew Kraus; Sibelius' "Valse Triste;" Brahms' "Hungarian Dances (No. 2 and No. 7);" and Mozart's Symphony No. 36, "Linz Symphony."

Dr. Daniel Perttu, Westminster assistant professor of music, will join the orchestra on bassoon.

The orchestra is under the direction of Melinda Crawford Perttu, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2009. She earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a master's from Ohio State University.
