Attendance Policy of the 2012-2013 Senate

This attendance policy will be the attendance policy of the newly elected senate. All senators will be permitted three (3) unexcused absences. After this third absence, the senator will be sent a warning letter, which will serve as notice. If a fourth unexcused absence occurs, the senator will be asked to resign his/her position on the Senate. The four officers will decide whether or not the excuses are acceptable.

Committee meetings are to be held at the beginning of the Senate meeting. These meetings will be held to the same guidelines as listed above.

Meeting times and locations will be announced via email or by announcement to the Senate in a meeting prior to the new meeting time/location.

*Warnings are sent out to notify you of your attendance standing. They are not a threat. Try to keep in mind that you are representing your fellow students and as a leader it is imperative you show your commitment by attending every Senate meeting.

Acceptable Excuses

  • Varsity Sports
  • Family Emergencies
  • Required Lectures, Films, Symposiums
  • Work, if necessary (should rarely occur)

Sincerely,
Nicholas Dalessio
SGA Secretary
