H1N1 Update

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Dear Students,

Over the summer we have all read and heard a great deal about the H1N1 virus. Thus far there have been no cases in Lawrence County, but we want to be prepared. We have been working with the New Castle Department of Health and the college physicians to develop a plan to deal with the virus if it arrives in our area. We will also be looking into offering the H1N1 vaccine on campus when it becomes available.

The following items are some that you may want to make sure you pack for your return to school:

  • Hand sanitizers
  • Surface wipes
  • Thermometers

If you live on campus, your RA will also have these items available for your use. In the meantime, we will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available.

Finally, please be sure to remind your parents and/or next of kin to check the Student Health Center's website for updates on the H1N1 virus. We will do our best to keep it as current and helpful as possible for you.

Take care of yourself and stay healthy!
