H1N1 Update

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

We continued to offer free doses of the H1N1 vaccine to students until Wednesday, December 16, On Wednesday the Department of Health took our remaining vaccine. In total, we administered 261 doses of the vaccine.

If you are interested in receiving the vaccine, there are going to be clinics at the Shenango Valley Mall in Hermitage on January 8 and 9, from 8 am to 4 pm. To get the vaccine at the clinics, you first need to go online to www.H1N1inPA.com and register under "What's Hot" (after Monday, December 21, 2009) or phone 1-877-PA-HEALTH.

I am very happy to announce that we have not had a diagnosed case of influenza here for several weeks. That being said, there is concern by the Department of Health that the H1N1 influenza may make more appearances when the seasonal influenza arrives during the winter months.

Have a Happy, Healthy, Holiday Season!
