I have been with Westminster Colllege since 2001 and currently serve as Director for the Office of Diversity Services. My job responsibilities include:
• overseeing all aspects of student diversity on campus
• creating a more diverse student population through increased recruitment and retention of minority students
• assisting in shaping strategies to achieve institutional diversity goals
• orienting international students when they arrive and helping them get settled while making the cultural adjustments necessary to flourish at an American institution
• dealing with differences in matters such as gender, sexual orientation, age, and disabilities.

• promoting an atmosphere of support and acceptance for minority, international and underrepresented students through programming, assistance and advocacy both on and off the campus
• providing administrative and clerical support to various Diversity Office-related committees such as the College’s Board of Trustees Committee on Diversity, Diversity Symposium, Diversity Council and the W. PA Diversity Directors Consortium
• assisting the Director with planning and implementing diversity services events and office budget maintenance
• maintaining divisional filing and administrative systems as well as establishing and maintaining a database of minority students and their scholarships, internships and fellowships
