BIO 113: Biology of Infectious Disease Sample syllabus: This special topics course explores the epidemiology, pathology, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases in humans. It has a weekly lab component in which we study common disease-causing organisms. The text book is Medical Microbiology by Cedric Mims. This course also have a service learning component; Project Malawi, in which students develop kits and protocols for high school lab experiments, which are then shipped to our partner school in Blantyre, Malawi.

BIO 363: Animal Behavior Sample syllabus: This course explores the proximate and ultimate causes of behavior as well as learning and cognition in animals. The textbook is Animal Behavior by John Alcock. The course has a weekly lab component in which we study animals in the lab and in their natural habitats

BIO 304: Developmental Biology  Sample Syllabus: This course explores the molecular mechanisms of embryonic development in key model organisms. There is a weekly lab component; the textbook is Principles of Development by Lewis Wolpert
