How is the beginning of this book different? (See also beginning of Acts)

How are the opening stories of Lk different from those of Mt & Mk? What characters are or aren't there? How do they interact?

Compare the birth narrative in Lk with that of Mt. Make a list of similarities & differences. How do the similarities & differences reflect the interests of Lk & Mt? (NB: very helpful summary in *Brown: Responses, Q54–60)
