David Swerdlow is the author of two collections of poetry, Bodies on Earth(WordTech Editions, 2010) and Small Holes in the
Universe(WordTech Editions, 2003). His poems and
essays have appeared in many distinguished journals, including The American Poetry Review, Poetry,
The Denver Quarterly, West Branch and
The Ohio Review. He is
the recipient of several awards, including a an NEH Fellowship,
Pennsylvania Council for the Arts awards for his poetry, and the Anna
Davidson Rosenberg award for poetry with a Jewish theme. As a
Fulbright Professor of American literature, he taught at the
Universidad de Piura in Peru. In the summers of 2005 and 2009, he
traveled on the MV Explorer
as a faculty member with Semester at Sea.
