Scholarship

Dr. Castro's special interests include Latin literature of the post-Augustan Age (1^st& 2^nd centuries AD/CE), Roman imperial history, and the interface of the early Christian Church with the Roman Empire. Dr. Castro also works on annotated texts of selections from Roman authors for use in undergraduate Latin classes. He is an active participant in the Lingua Latina Viva (modern oral Latin) movement.
