Tropical Ecology: AustraliaBio 520/521Course Description
This is a travel course on the ecology, natural history, geology, and culture of Australia. During the spring semester, classroom sessions will introduce basic principles of science that can be used to explain ecological and geological phenomena of this unique area. Organisms and habitats unique to Australia and culturally and historically significant sites will be studied. The travel itinerary includes the Great Barrier Reef, rainforests around Mungalli Falls in the Atherton Tablelands, and an outback camping experience in a remote aboriginal community.Biology and Environmental Science majors can get major elective credit for the course. For non-majors, the course fulfills the Scientific Discovery IP requirement. You must register for both Bio 520 and Bio 521.Estimated cost: $3925 (all-inclusive) |
