About Information Systems
Westminster’s Information Systems Department oversees computing and telephone resources for the campus community. The Department provides services and supports students, staff and faculty in their use of information resources.
TitanNet is the campus-wide network that distributes computing resources throughout campus over a fiber optic based cable plant with high speed switches. Services available on TitanNet to students, staff and faculty include personal network accounts with e-mail and network storage space, shared folders for use in courses, and software applications for specific curricular needs or general productivity. Users of TitanNet also have access to World Wide Web resources through the College’s high speed Internet link. A public computer lab in each academic building is operated by Information Systems as part of TitanNet, and students living in residence halls can connect their own computers to the campus network through the TitanNet CONNECT! program coordinated by department staff. Additional information about the TitanNet CONNECT! program can be found on this site. Also on the department website are descriptions of Westminster’s technology enhanced classrooms (smart classrooms), help desk services, staff positions, and official policies that apply to users of College information resources.
The College operates its own telephone system and assigns an individual phone number with voice mail to each student and office staff member. Some information about telephone usage is provided on the department website.
Westminster collaborates with other institutions on information resource matters of mutual interest and belongs to the regional Consortium for Computing in Undergraduate Education (C-CUE).
