Duties:
Student employees in the Classroom and Event Support/User Services section of LIS provide technical support and training at any tier level for any Smart Classroom technology (control systems, projectors, etc.) or event space technology under LIS control. Students are also responsible for the inventory, maintenance, and reservation processing for over 1,000 circulating equipment items, available to all active college employees and students. The following are primary duties and responsibilities of this position: • Assist with maintenance, upkeep, and operation of campus-wide classroom and event technologies owned by Library and Information Services. • Provide troubleshooting and follow-up as needed to keep all classroom and event technologies operational • Continuously update all online knowledge base materials for use by Westminster personnel • Coordinate individual or group training sessions for classroom best practices, self-service operations, or instructional technology • Inspect classrooms regularly to ensure that all audiovisual components properly operate and that all cables, connectors, and other included room attributes are accounted for and ready to use • Maintain a database which includes circulating equipment, along with installed equipment • Analyze and processes equipment reservations from faculty, staff, and students • Participate in equipment setup and teardown as requested

Qualifications/Skills:
• Outstanding initiative and reliability • Excellent verbal, writing, and overall customer service skills, as there is frequent interaction with faculty, staff, and executive staff • Adaptable to rapid changes in technology and policies • Comfortable working under pressure in high-impact situations • Ability to have an empathic understanding toward the impact of any technology issue experienced by patrons

Special Requirements:
Those interested in this position must have outstanding customer service skills, be extremely reliable, and establish flexibility and familiarity with all facets of technology we have to offer. We train on everything technology-related from the ground up, with the expectation that the candidate will utilize appropriate strategies for retaining this information. A willingness to learn and provide an experience for others to learn is crucial to this operation. This position also provides opportunities to learn skills related to desktop computers and devices, along with various other cross-training opportunities with our Desktop and Device staff.
