Duties:
This position works closely with the Technical Operations manager to design and develop television graphics for various broadcast remote productions and train others on graphic design and use within a wide array of television productions. This person will create visual concepts, typically by computer software, to communicate ideas that inform, inspire, or captivate our audience. This position requires a general understanding of graphic design principles for television and strong computing skills, as well as skills in time management, planning, problem solving, training, set up, and judgment. Creative ideas are welcomed and encouraged for design and integration into a variety of programming. This position also provides assistance with remote truck broadcasts as warranted. This position provides considerable occasions to develop industry leading graphic techniques, interpersonal communication with event teams, planning, problem solving skills, and independent production. For more information, and to apply, please contact Gary Swanson at gswanson@westminster.edu The following are primary duties and responsibilities of this position: • Coordinate with other broadcast team members: i. To set deadlines for all graphics from the remote schedule for design, creation, review, and completion. ii. To determine all graphics required for each remote. • Oversee design, development, and implementation of all needed television graphics. • Regular research of new techniques and developments on both existing and new graphics systems and design. • Coordinate testing in advance for required graphics equipment. • Provide documentation and execute graphics setup to specifications for each production. • Regularly perform maintenance on graphics systems to ensure smooth operation. • Help manage and instruct others on proper use, storage and care of all graphics equipment as well as graphic design, creation, and application(s) operation during a broadcast. • Create and update detailed “user friendly” instructions for graphic standards and design, and all associated software applications. • Assist with all TV remote broadcast preparation, set-up, operation, and strikes. • Prepare updates and participate in weekly status meeting with supervisor to review assignments, prioritize, and plan. • Attend and contribute to weekly broadcast prep meetings and monthly staff meetings. • Exercise timely communications through email, mobile phone, and provided applications as necessary. • Prepare updates and participate in weekly status meeting with supervisor to review assignments, prioritize, and plan.

Qualifications/Skills:

Specific qualifications include: • A general understanding of graphic design principles for television and solid computing skills. • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe program suites. • Some cursory understanding of computer networking. • Familiarity with the use and connectivity of broadcast equipment. • Adaptability, dedication, professionalism, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to seek out new designs and styles that fit broadcast needs is necessary to be successful. • Strong skills in time management, planning, problem solving, and training. • Strong communication, organization, reasoning, creativity, and team leadership/building skills. • Adaptability, professionalism, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to seek out new tasks and responsibilities is necessary to be successful. • Willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when needed.

Special Requirements:
We fully train all motivated individuals. Events occur on a variety of days and times. Must be flexible—weather and other factors can affect schedule and needs. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, lift, and carry component equipment.
