Career Exploration

Internship Program


Westminster students serve internships in a variety of areas, including:

  • law and government
  • private industry
  • health care
  • laboratories
  • newspapers
  • schools
  • churches
  • radio and TV stations

Internships may be scheduled during fall, spring or summer term, as well as semester break. One to four semester credit hours may be earned for an internship. Registration and faculty approval are required for credit.


Career Library


The Career Library contains an up-to-date collection of resources on:

  • career opportunities
  • internships and summer jobs
  • companies and organizations
  • resume and cover letter writing
  • interveiwing
  • hiring and salary trends
  • graduate and professional school test applications and information


Alumni Informational Meetings / Shadowing Program


Students may speak with alumni who are professionals in the field(s) in which they are interested. A list of alumni contacts may be obtained according to occupational and geographic preferences.

The Alumni Shadowing Program, sponsored by the Alumni Office and the Career Center, provides students with opportunities to spend a day in the field with an alum in an area of professional interest.
