Giant iPad-like device coming to Westminster

Saturday, October 5, 2013

Audio Visual Services at Westminster College is welcoming guest speaker Tom Beck, representing Troxell, to campus on Friday, October 18th, to present two new innovative presentation technologies as part of Westminster College's AV WEEK celebration. Attendees will get acquainted with a giant iPad like device known as the Mondopad, and associated software called Display Note at the special event.

Troxell was founded in 1946 and was originally established in Northern Arizona. It is now the largest individually owned Audio Visual Distributor with more than 50 companies spread across the United States. Their customer base is largely made up of educators and government end-users.

The Mondopad has a built in Windows PC and a digital interactive touch board. Uses can present, annotate and collaborate on the giant tablet with meeting participants in the room and around the world. It puts everything needed to visually present, capture and share ideas - all beautifully integrated into a single device.

The Display Note software is a cool tool that allows students to capture all of the presenter's content using their portable devices like an iPad, laptop, Android tablet or smartphone and ipod touch. Users can add their own notes, capture slides, follow along, highlight text, and save and store or mail that session for later review. DisplayNote works alongside any software application which means connected devices can capture all of the presenter's content quickly.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. in Westminster's AV Classroom (MCC 180). It is free and open to the public, and seats are expected to fill quickly.
