3D scanning and printing are recent technological developments that makes it possible to turn 3D proofs into tangible objects. It is working wonders in the medicine, military, and experimental design fields, as well as many other technology-related areas of study.
To highlight the innovation of 3D printing and scanning, Westminster College Audio Visual Services will be hosting Pittsburgh TechShop's Lizzee Solomon for a 3D scanning demonstration during AV Week in Westminster's Witherspoon Maple room on Thursday, October 17th 2013 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Erin Sullivan, Operations and Equipment Circulation Manager in Audio Visual Services, is excited to see what 3D printing can offer on Westminster campus. "3D printing and scanning is a very new technology that broadens the horizons of what we can invent and reduces the limitations set by material costs," said Sullivan. "I speak for the whole AV staff when I say that we're very excited for TechShop's presentation."
