With classes coming to a close and Commencement only days away, the staff and management of Audio Visual Services wishes to recognize four graduating seniors that have certainly left their mark on the department and Westminster. Katie Farley, Kelly Matune, Kevin McCarty, and Nicole Jodikinos will be graduating on Saturday, and their valuable contributions and vibrant personalities will certainly be missed.
Katie Farley, of Bangor, Pennsylvania became a part of the AV family in fall 2009, her first semester on campus. As equipment circulation manager, Katie took on the huge task of coordinating and implementing a new equipment circulation system known as the Quigley Equipment System (QES). When she's not maintaining equipment, Katie can be found in the chemistry lab doing research. Katie will be attending Yale in the fall to take classes, do research, and work as a teaching assistant.
Kevin McCarty, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania was hired in fall of 2011 and has been keeping the office light-hearted ever since. As Media Library Manager, Kevin revolutionized media inventory, ensuring that all errors were tracked and fixed. In his spare time, Kevin likes to play the guitar, go on walks, attend concerts, and cook delicious meals. He will be working for local accounting firm Carbis Walker after graduation.
Kelly Matune, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania pours her heart and soul into public relations, whether in the Audio Visual office, in the classroom, or at her new position at TrueSense Marketing in Freedom, PA. Since being hired in the spring of 2010, Kelly has served as Public Relations Manager and Operations Manager. She has collaborated with departments on and off campus, promoted Green AV initiatives, and helped the office run smoothly. When Kelly is not busy turning red from the Director's attempts to embarrass her, she does yoga, attends local concerts, travels, writes poetry, and captures beautiful moments though photography.
Nicole Jodikinos, of Clinton, Pennsylvania has been with AV since spring semester 2010. Recommended by Professors Ligo and Smith, Nicole worked her way through her accounting classes and served AV well as Purchasing Manager and Assistant Operations Manager. When she's not wrestling with the cash register, Nicole babysits for a family of nine, volunteers for Royal Family Kids Camp, and spends time with her fiancée and their puppy.
"Looking back over everything these four have accomplished is both stunning and quite humbling," recalled AV Director Gary Swanson. "On behalf of the institution, I can't thank them enough for their commitment, dedication, and efforts toward enhancing the Westminster experience for the entire community."
A huge thank you goes out to these graduating seniors who we have all grown so close to over the years. Through their time in Audio Visual Services, this group of dependable workers have achieved many goals and improved the department with shining smiles and exceptional teamwork. They have paved the way for those that will follow them, and we will dearly miss them all.
