Morando MBA, MSN, PHRN, RN, Sr. Director of Emergency and Critical Care at Sharon Regional Health System and Stacey Winners, Telestroke Program Manager at Cleveland Clinic presented about new a medical technology on Tuesday, October 16th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the AV Classroom, MCC 180 of the McKelvey Campus Center.
Telemedicine: Communicating for Effective Healthcare was the second event of AV Week 2012 at Westminster College. This presentation highlighted how Telemedicine, an interactive videoconferencing tool, which incorporates a webcam and software, empower patients and their families to communicate from a remote location with specialists at another hospital. Telemedicine also allows patients and doctors to interactively review and discuss test results.
Westminster students and staff attended this event, one of which walked away with a fabulous door prize. A huge thank you goes out to our presenters, one of which traveled all the way from Cleveland, Ohio, as well as our sponsors, moderators from AV Services, and those in attendance.
AV week continues until Saturday, October 20. A complete line-up of events can be found here.
