Local Experts to Speak on GOING GREEN IN A TECHNOLOGICAL AGE

Thursday, October 11, 2012

As a part of Audio Visual's commitment to a greener lifestyle, AV will be hosting a presentation called Going Green in a Technological Age: Waste Reduction and Energy Conservation. The presentation will be held on the Westminster College campus in the McKelvey Campus Center's Witherspoon-Lakeview room on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

The presentation will feature Jerry Zona and Megan Gahring from Lawrence & Mercer County Solid Waste & Recycling. They will be discussing how to purchase energy efficient products and dispose of them responsibly.

The presentation will also include the live dismantling of a piece of equipment. Prizes will be available for those in attendance.

"Lately, there has been a movement towards green products and practices. However, some people may not be completely informed about how to make this switch," said Operations and Public Relations Manager and Green AV enthusiast Kelly Matune. "We hope to see many students, faculty, and members of the community in attendance so that our campus can become a healthier, more environmentally friendly place."

All AV Week events are free and open to the public. Please contact AV Services by email at avstaff@westminster.edu or by phone at 724-946-7188 for more information.
