A new large format scanner with associated software is now available to the campus and community through the AV Services department.
"I am excited about this unit, and the options we now can provide to our patrons that were limited previously," said Katie Bittner, Assistant Director of Audio Visual Services. "We used to have to outsource or turn-away clients who had items larger than 8.5 x 11 inches. Now people that have large or odd-sized pictures and documents don't have to drive elsewhere to have them transferred into a digital format just to bring them back to us for poster printing, or any of our other imaging services."
The department's new Epson® Expression® 10000XL offers high-quality, large-volume scanning for media up to 12.2" x 17.2" in dimension. It has the capability to scan multiple images at one time, save the files to a PC, an AutoFocus optics system which has the ability to adjusts the focus for capturing clear, precise images, and editing capability including faded color restorations, automatic dust removal and grain reduction for film scanning.
