Gary L. Swanson, Westminster College Director of Audio Visual Services, was the a guest speaker for the Hermitage School District's "Career Week" and served also served as a mock-interviewer for the western Pennsylvania high school's seniors in February.

Swanson's presentation to over 200 elementary students and educators touched on the wide range of opportunities available today in the Audio Visual Industry and provided some snapshots of what a day at Westminster AV looks like. Students had the opportunity to ask a number of questions and had some hands-on time with a portable sound system.

"With audiovisual technologies appearing everywhere you look today, a career in the audiovisual industry has never been a better idea." Swanson shared.  "The people who design, install and manage AV systems earn an excellent living and get to work in a dynamic and challenging field."

Swanson also served as one of several volunteers who conducted mock job interviews with members of the shool's senior class. Students were given an opportunity to present themselves and materials, asked a battery of questions, and then given critical review of how they presented and performed throughout the session.

Swanson, a graduate of Westminster, joined the college in 1990. Contact AV Services at (724) 946-7188 or email avstaff@westminster.edu for additional information.
