About Me

I am a Lecturer of Early Childhood Education and the Coordinator of Child and Family Studies at Westminster.  Prior to this position I gained 22 years of experience as the Head Teacher of the Psychology Department's Preschool Lab. I have enjoyed varied teaching positions from preschool to fourth grade at the University of Pittsburgh's Falk Laboratory School, the Winchester-Thurston School in Pittsburgh, Wilmington Area School District and the Michael Reese Hospital Childcare Program in Chicago. My Master of Education degrees are in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

I teach Issues and Trends in Early Childhood Education, Teaching Language Arts in the PreK / Primary Classroom, Student Teaching Supervision and Child and Family Studies Capstone along with coordinating Student Teaching Seminar  and Student Teaching Placement.

Memberships include NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and NAREA (North American Reggio Emilia Alliance).  I have presented with colleagues for local PAEYC (Pittsburgh) conferences, PaCIE (Pennsylvania Council for International Education) and local early childhood training workshops.

Research interests include children's story-telling and language development through wordless book study.
