Dr. Sararose Lynch is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department. She received her Doctoral degree from West Virginia University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Mathematics Education. Her undergraduate work focused on Secondary Mathematics Education at West Virginia Wesleyan College and her Masters degree is in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis on secondary and post-secondary aged students with disabilities from West Virginia University. Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, Dr. Lynch was a middle school mathematics and special education teacher in West Virginia. She also taught special education and was a transition counselor for high school students with disabilities in Maryland. Her research interests focus on classroom mathematical discourse, pre-service mathematics teacher preparation, and mathematics instruction for students with disabilities. Dr. Lynch is involved with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and the Council for Exceptional Children and has presented papers at several national conferences.
