About Me
I have been with Westminster College since 2001 and currently serve as Associate Professor of English and Public Relations. I teach courses in modern poetry, critical theory, writing, gender studies, and genetics and literature. I am the author of Degrees of Freedom: American Women Poets and the Women's College, 1905-1955 (Bucknell 2008), which focuses on the poetry of Marianne Moore, Elizabeth Bishop, and Sylvia Plath. I am also co-editor of a collection of essays, Elizabeth Bishop in the 21st Century (University of Virginia Press 2012). I have published a number of essays on modern poetry and two book chapters on teaching. I was a participant in a 2010 NEH summer seminar on Brazilian literature held in São Paulo, Brazil and am currently working on a book on Elizabeth Bishop in Brazil.
I received my BA in English from Russell Sage College and my MA, MAT and PhD from the University of Rochester.
