About Me

My passion is teaching.  I have spent a lifetime teaching special education students and general education students in agencies and in public schools. I have taught every grade level from preschool to adults.  My youngest student was eighteen months and my oldest student was eighty one.

I have taught in the Waynesboro School District, the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV in Grove City, PA and Neshannock School District.  I worked for Lark Enterprises in New Castle, PA. I own the Toadally Frog and Roo School, an Individualized Educational Experience Tutoring School.   I am excited to continue to pass on my knowledge to preservice teachers so that they can become the strong educators of the future.  I also want to continue to inform students in other fields about the different disabilities and how their fields can provide support.

I have been an adjunct faculty member at Westminster since 2010.  I am currently a Lecturer of Special Education.  In this role, I teach Foundations of Special Education, Reading for Exceptional Children, and Student Teaching Supervision.

My undergraduate degree as well as my Master of Special Education degree are from Slippery Rock University.

I am a member of Council for Exceptional Children and I serve as an advisor for the Westminster Chapter of CEC. I am a member of Pennsylvania State Education Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.  I have presented at “Sail into Literacy” Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV staff development program, Western Regional Support Conference, PA Governor’s School, and Slippery Rock University Cooperating Teacher Seminars.

When I am not teaching, I love using tools!  I have helped to build 13 homes with Habitat for Humanity.  I also enjoy creating jewelry.
