NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Department of Music and its students will be participating in two honors festivals in the upcoming weeks. It has been a busy month for the department as students and staff have already participated in various conferences and traveled across the region during March.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College chemistry students Tyler Umstead and Lance Jubic will present research during the Environmental Programs Lunch Seminar March 12 at 12:45 p.m. in the Hoyt Science Research Center, room 291.

THE CHARITABLE IRA ROLLOVER EXTENDED!
When Congress passed the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, a special benefit was included extending the Charitable IRA Rollover provision which allows the use of IRA funds for charitable purposes.
- The donor must be 70.5 years or older
- The gift cannot be more than $100,000
- The gift must be completed by December 31, 2013 to qualify as a 2013 donation
- The charitable distribution counts toward minimum required distributions
- The funds must be transferred directly from the IRA Custodian to Westminster College Consult with your tax professional if you are contemplating a gift under this provision.

KAPPA DELTA'S GO CONFIDENTLY HANDBAG COLLECTION
Do you have any handbags or purses that you no longer use and would like to get rid of? If so the sisters of Kappa Delta will be collecting used handbags until April 5 to support the Lawrence County Crisis Shelter. Donation boxes will be located in Dorms and Campus buildings. Over Spring break do not forget to bring back all those handbags you no longer want.
PRESCHOOL LAB RECRUITING STUDENT AIDES
Looking for a way to earn money or gain course credit while you acquire excellent experience working with young children? Consider applying for a position at the Preschool Lab!
The Westminster College Psychology Preschool Lab is recruiting student aides for the 2013 fall semester. These positions are paid or may be eligible for course credit with advisor approval. The student aide positions require availability either M/W/F or T/Th mornings from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Experience with young children is preferred. - The Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival will reward a student pursuing a career in visual arts a $500 scholarship for the 2013/2014 Fall semester. Westminster College students will be giving swimming lesson April 2-5 and April 8-11 at the Westminster College Natatorium. Swimmers in levels I and II will meet 5:30-6:15 p.m. and swimmers in levels III, IV, V and VI will meet 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Registration is Wednesday, March 27 from 6-7 p.m. in the lobby of the Memorial Field House. Registration is $60 per person, or $65 for late registration on April 2. All swimmers must be at least 5 years of age.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
Irish Shamrock Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (3 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix
1 1/3 cups baking mix
1 tablespoon white sugar
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease baking sheet.
2. Cream together the butter or margarine and the pudding mix. Blend in the baking mix, egg and sugar and mix well.
3. On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to 3/8 inch thickness and cut into cookies with a shamrock cookie cutter.
4. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 9 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges. Let cookies cool on rack. Frost with green colored icing if desired.
