Westminster College's Celebrity Series announced its 2014-2015 season, which includes concerts by America and Christmas with The Tenors.
America, sponsored by Springfield Restaurant Group, will kick off the season Saturday, Oct. 4. Named one of the greatest folk-rock bands of all time, their hits include "A Horse with No Name," "You Can Do Magic," "Ventura Highway," and "Sister Golden Hair."
The Hit Men, sponsored by Jameson Health System and Park Inn by Radisson, is on tap for Saturday, Nov 15. Not a tribute band or the cast of a Broadway show, these are the former stars of The Four Seasons, featuring Gerry Polci, the voice of "Oh, What a Night."
Christmas with The Tenors, sponsored by Giant Eagle®, is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9. Also known as The Canadian Tenors, this quartet will showcase some of the season's most popular songs.
Women of Ireland, sponsored by First National Bank, is the next generation of Ireland's world champion dancers and finest performers. Their celebration of St. Patrick's Day comes to the Orr stage Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway will wrap up the season Saturday, April 25. Sponsored by Huntington Bank, the show features five of Broadway's finest stars performing songs from the most beloved Broadway musicals of the past 100 years.
All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. Season subscriptions are currently on sale and single-show tickets may be pre-ordered.
A special Celebrity Series for Kids show, The Berenstain Bears, is slated for Tuesday, May 27, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. and is not part of the season subscription. Recommended for pre-kindergarten through second grade students, the show is adapted from the classic children's book series by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Sponsors for this program include Dr. Richard Ribarevski, D.M.D.; Family Medical Care of Lawrence County's Dr. James L. Gardner III, M.D., Dr. Mary C. Tanyel, M.D., and Peggy McAnlis, C.R.N.P.; Dr. Pek C. Teh and Jyhwa Teh; The Hoyt Center for the Arts; and Westminster's Drinko Center for Experiential Learning.
