This publication
provides an overview of growing collections and expanding services available
to the students and faculty of Westminster College. We are here to help
you use these services and collections so, please, do not hesitate to
ask for assistance.
We have four libraries on this campus. McGill Library,
the main library, contains material
on the fine arts, humanities, and social sciences. Mack
Science Library houses material on the natural sciences, mathematics,
and technology. However, indexes
to science periodicals are not always in Mack Library. For example, The
Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature is housed in McGill Library
but it indexes material housed in both McGill and Mack Libraries. Because
information is not one dimentional,
there is significant overlap among subjects making it necessary that you
use multiple libraries much of the time. The Audio Visual
Library houses the film,
video, and DVD collection
and the Music Library houses the musical score, record,
and CD collection.
As a member of the campus community,
you may access the Library's electronic material (indexes, databases,
online catalog, periodicals) from anywhere on campus. Within both McGill
and Mack Library access to the electronic material is provided through
public computer terminals or through te wireless system available to registered
users who have their own personal laptops.
