Westminster recently restructured its curriculum to better prepare students for the twenty first century. The new general education program, called Liberal Studies, cuts across departments to connect subjects and improve your critical thinking skills. An important feature of our is the First-Year Program created for all students. A central part of the new program is the Inquiry seminar,, which explores broad, important life issues that cannot be answered by any one discipline. An introduction to information technology is linked with Inquiry in theFirst-Year Program with courses in writing and oral Communication.

While liberal studies will benefit all students imagine the advantages of being electronically connected to the campus network, the Internet, and to your professor and classmates both in class and out of class! You will be able to review and take notes, present information and ideas, and access information with a few keystrokes from your seat in the classroom or your residence hall.

If you elect to enter this innovative laptop program, you and your classmates will integrate state-of-the-art technology and enduring human questions.

The laptop program also allows us to more fully investigate the central questions of  the course, share our discoveries, and consult resources from all over the world. We can transform the classroom into a lab, and share our resources both in and out of the classroom.
