ESSEX FELLS, N.J. - Two Westminster College swimmers have been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as 2014 CSCAA Individual Scholar All-Americans, supported by Nike Swim.
Westminster junior Steven Brooks (Boardman, Ohio / Boardman) was tabbed a first team Scholar All-America, while Titan senior Amanda Marlow (Twinsburg, Ohio / Twinsburg) was named honorable mention.
The CSCAA Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimmers and divers who have achieved a cumulative or term grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the academic term coinciding with their respective national swimming and diving championships and have qualified for and competed at the championship.
The CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimmers and divers who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester, or cumulative average, and have achieved a "B" time standard but did not qualify or compete in their respective national championship. Divers qualify by competing at their respective championship qualifying meets, zones or NCAA preliminary rounds.

Swimming & Diving: Titans Hire New Diving Coach All-American Heath Calhoun
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College swimming & diving team announced its hire of new diving coach Heath Calhoun. Calhoun was a sixth-time All-American as a diver at Division II Clarion University.
Calhoun won the NCAA Division II national championship on the 3-meter springboard at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Calhoun broke the NCAA record by scoring 615.95 points (34.30 points better than the previous record and 54.15 points better than the second-place finisher). Calhoun was .50 points from winning the 1-meter competition. A team co-captain his senior year, Calhoun was named the CSCAA (College Swimming Coaches Association of America) Division II "Male Diver of the Year".
"We are extremely excited to welcome Heath to our coaching staff," Titan Head Swimming & Diving Coach Rob Klamut said. "His diving experience and credentials are truly outstanding. I know that he will help build a successful diving program here at Westminster College that will help us sustain and improve the high level of competiveness of our program." Klamut is also a Clarion graduate.
Heath, a graduate of Butler High School, earned a degree in Rehab Science at Clarion in 2014 where he was also a Scholar Athlete and an Academic All-American.

Women's Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's swimming & diving team has been named a 2014 Spring College Swimming Coaches of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, supported by Nike Swim, the CSCAA announced on Thursday, July 10.
The Titans finished the spring semester with a team GPA of 3.24.
The CSCAA Team Scholar All-American Award is presented to college and university swimming & diving teams, which have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams achieving a 3.0 in the semester coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
Westminster Produces 54 Athletes on Spring Academic Honor Roll
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) recognized 54 Westminster College student-athletes who were named to the PAC Spring 2014 Academic Honor Roll.
The PAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during their semester of competition. A total of 461 student-athletes from the 10-league schools were recognized.

Westminster Celebrates 2013-14 Athletic Accomplishments at WESPY Awards
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Department of Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the 11th Annual WESPY Awards (Westminster Exceptional Sports Performances of the Year) Tuesday night at Orr Auditorium. The WESPYs honored team MVPs for all 18 varsity sports teams, as well as several annual awards and recognition of top athletic achievements throughout the 2013-14 academic year.
Westminster Prepares for NCAA's Third Division III Week
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster will be joining nearly 450 other NCAA Division III institutions to celebrate Division III Week this week, April 7-13. This is the third year that a week has been set aside by the NCAA to recognize those member institutions whose intercollegiate athletic programs compete in D-III.
