Football: Lettermen and Team Awards Announced at Banquet

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College football team celebrated its 2007 season accomplishments as the team held its annual awards banquet Sunday, Jan. 20, in the Witherspoon Room of the McKelvey Campus Center. Third-year head coach Jeff Hand issued letter awards to 43 lettermen as well as academic awards and team awards voted on by the players.

For a second straight year senior Brett Ziegler (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) earned the team's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Most Valuable Player awards. Ziegler, a first-team all-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) selection, caught 52 passes for 696 yards and six touchdowns while becoming the school's all-time career receptions leader with 142 catches.
