Women's Indoor Track & Field: Kalsey Breaks School Record at Spire Institute Open

GENEVA, Ohio - Sophomore All-American sophomore Marissa Kalsey (Waynesburg, PA / Waynesburg) set a school record as three pole vaulters of the Westminster women's track and field team competed in the Midwest Indoor Track & Field Open at Spire Institute on Saturday.

Kalsey placed second out of 26 competitors with a mark of 4.00 meters, breaking her own school record of 3.95 meters that she set at last year's Indoor Nationals.

Freshmen Brooke Mancuso (Wexford, PA) and Cassidy Shepherd (Greensburg, PA) followed in third and fourth, respectively. Both set personal bests as Mancuso registered 3.85 meters and Shepherd scored a mark of 3.70 meters.

Kalsey currently stands first in the nation, while Mancuso ranks second and Shepherd stands seventh.

A select number of Titans will compete at the Oberlin Invitational on Friday and others will participate in a meet at Mount Union on Saturday.
