Indoor Track & Field: Both Titan Teams Place Second at Oberlin Invitational

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Westminster College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Oberlin Invitational on Friday. The Titan men scored 119 points for second-place, while the Titan women also finished second with 126 points.

The Thiel men won with 122 points, while the Oberlin women won with 135 points.

Both Titan teams won four events each.

Senior Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City) and sophomore Angela Colella (West Middlesex, PA / West Middlesex) led the women as they both won an individual event and were part of a winning relay.

Gabor won the 200 meter dash (28.18), while Colella placed first in the long jump (4.45m).

Gabor and Colella were also part of the 4x200 meter relay team who won with a time of 1:54.84. Completing the quartet were sophomores Alicia Nuzzo (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) and Marissa Toensing (Newton Falls, OH / Newton Falls).

Also picking up a first-place finish for the women was senior Olivia Bonavita (Aliquippa, PA / Hopewell) who won the triple jump with a leap of 8.78 meters.
The men won two events in the field and two on the track.

Sophomore Anthony Yasko (Pittsburgh, PA) won the 200 meter dash (24.88), while freshman Neil Christopher (Pittsburgh, PA) crossed the finish line first in the 500 meter dash (1:14.42).

In the field, sophomore Andrew Brannen's (Pittsburgh, PA / Peters Township) first attempt in the triple jump was good enough for first place with a mark of 11.71 meters. Senior Jason Frawley's (Franklin, PA / Franklin) third toss of 13.76 meters in the shot put also yielded first.
