Volleyball: Titans Win, 3-0, Over Saint Vincent on Senior Night

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team won, 3-0 (25-16,25-20,25-19), over Saint Vincent Tuesday night inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium on Senior Night. The Titans improved to 25-7 overall and 12-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Bearcats dropped to 14-15 overall and 7-9 in the conference.

Westminster's 25 wins is the most since 2002 when the Titans were 26-10 and won their first PAC Championship.

Titan senior Megan Romocean (Ravenna, OH / Southeast) led with a double-double that included a game-high 11 kills and 12 digs. Classmate Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) followed with nine kills, while junior Kassie Freyermuth (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) added six.

The Titan defense was led by Claire Ferrando (North Jackson, OH / Western Reserve) who had 14 digs. Junior Julie Powell (Meadville, PA / Meadville) registered 10 digs, followed by seniors Chrissy Volsko (Canfield, OH / Austintown Fitch) and Katie Palkovic (Camp Hill, PA / Trinity) who each had seven digs. Palkovic also had a game-high 32 assists. Senior Lexi Starheim added a game-high three blocks.

Westminster will finish its regular season at Thomas More on Saturday. The starting time is set for 2 p.m.
