NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College will induct five new members into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Class of 2013 is as follows: Andy Barry ‘97, Football; Tammy Newell Manzo ‘03, Women's Soccer; Rob Nogay ‘97, Men's Basketball, Baseball; Aaron Stamp ‘01, Football, and Erica Tallo ‘05, Women's Basketball.
The events will begin with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Towering Titan Organization (TTO) Tailgate Tent, recognition on the field at halftime of the Westminster-Waynesburg football game, and the induction dinner at the Witherspoon Room in the McKelvey Campus Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Please contact the Department of Athletics (724-946-7307) for information or reservations for the Hall of Fame induction dinner.
The following are biographies of all five inductees.
ANDY BARRY '97
A four-year letterman, Barry was a three-time All-Mid States Football Association (MSFA) defensive back for the Titans from 1993-1996. He played on teams whose combined win-loss record was 34-11-2 during his career.
During his senior season, Barry was a team co-captain, an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, and a Don Hansen NAIA D-II Third Team All-American. Barry was a key player on the Titans' 1994 National Championship and 1993 National Championship Runner-Up teams. He ranks 10th all-time in total defense and fifth all-time in solo tackles.
A North Allegheny H.S. graduate, Barry was a sociology major at Westminster. He currently resides in Oakdale, PA, where he is a health and physical education teacher and assistant football coach at West Allegheny H.S.
TAMMY NEWELL MANZO '03
A four-year letter winner and starter, Manzoearned All-PAC First Team honors and was named the PAC Player of the Year in her senior season on Westminster's first PAC Women's Soccer Championship and NCAA D-III National Playoff teams.
For her career, Manzo ranks second all-time in points (140) and assists (36) and third all-time in goals (52). She also recorded the second highest number of assists in one season (16) and third most goals (22) and points scored (52) in one season.
A graduate of Hubbard H.S., Manzo majored in elementary education at Westminster. A kindergarten teacher and assistant girls soccer coach, Manzo currently resides in Hubbard, Ohio with husband Patrick and children Lucas (5) and Adalyn (3).
ROB NOGAY '97
A four-year letterman in both basketball and baseball, Nogay was a two-time All-KECC honoree in basketball and All-KECC MVP in baseball.
A member of the Titans' Keystone Empire Collegiate Conference (KECC) and NAIA D-I National Tournament teams in '93-'94 and '95-'96, Nogay ranks 13th all-time in points scored (1,338) and second all-time in three-point field goals made (314). As the baseball team MVP in 1995, Nogay led the Titans with 10 home runs, 36 runs batted in, and a .517 batting average that ranked him among the NAIA national leaders. For his career, Nogay hot .374 with 16 home runs and 84 runs batted in.
A graduate of Union H.S. in New Castle, PA, Nogay earned a degree in political science and history from Westminster. He is currently a teacher and the Athletic Director at Neshannock H.H. in New Castle where he resides with his wife Season, daughter Addison(6) and son Rob Jr. (4).
AARON STAMP '01
A four-year letterman and four-year starter at cornerback, Stamp played for Westminster from 1997-2000.
Stamp was the first true freshman to start a season opener for the Titan football team in 29 years. An All-Midwest Intercollegiate Football Conference (MIFC) Honorable Mention cornerback as a sophomore, Stamp also earned All-PAC Coaches Honors as a senior.Stamp ranks second all-time in career pass break-ups (54) and third all-time in career interceptions (21). He also ranks sixth all-time in career punt return average and seventh all-time in career punt return yardage.
A graduate of Cardinal Mooney H.S., Stamp majored in mathematics at Westminster and currently works as the a chief financial officer of The Zidian Group. Stamp currently resides in Brunswick, OH, with wife Sylvia, son Aidan (6), son Constantine (5), daughter Arianna (3), and son Christian (2).
ERICA TALLO '05
Tallo was a four-year letter winner and starter at Westminster from 2011-2004.
A team co-Captain as a junior and senior, Tallo was a key player on the PAC Championship and NCAA Playoff team in 2004-05.A three-time All-PAC honoree, including First Team honors in her sophomore year, Tallo also earned PAC Coaches honors as a freshman. The team's MVP in her junior year, Tallo ranks fourth all-time in career scoring with 1,227 points, third all-time in career rebounding (929), first all-time in career blocked shots (93), and fourth all-time in career steals (207).A graduate of West Allegheny H.S., Tallo majored in English at Westminster.
Tallo currently resides in Rochester, PA, where she is the Associate membership Director at Bairel Family YMCA.
