Men's Soccer: Titans Win, 3-1, Against Penn. State-Altoona

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team won, 3-1, on Wednesday over Penn-State Altoona. The Titans improved to 3-2 overall, while the Lions dropped to 0-4 on the season. The game started an hour and a half later than scheduled due to the weather and ended with 19:47 minutes left due to the visibility.

Westminster took a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of the game. Junior Dan Bishop (Burlington, NJ / Holy Cross) scored the first goal with 5:13 on the clock, his first of the season, from 30 yards out. Senior David Osae (Bedford, TX / Lawrence D. Bell) scored the second, a minute and a half later, for his second goal of the season.  

Penn. State cut Westminster's lead to 2-1 after a goal at the 48:18 mark in the second half. Titan sophomore Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) added insurance for Westminster with a goal, his team-leading fourth on the year, with 64:48 on the clock.

Titan junior goalie Michael Girata (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) had a career-high five saves on the night.

Westminster out-shot the Lions 15-9.

The Titans continue its four-game home stand and will host Lycoming Friday at 7:30 p.m.
