Monday, September 2, 2013

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 2-0, to Defiance on the final day of the Purple and Gold Classic hosted by Defiance College on Sunday. The Titans dropped to 1-1 overall on year, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 1-0.

The Yellow Jackets' two early goals at the marks of 18:31 and 19:34 proved to be all Defiance needed.

Titan freshman Mariah Treiber (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) had a game-high three shots on goal.

Westminster sophomore goalie Maddy Frech (Leechburg, PA / Kiski Area) had two saves in the loss.

The Titans are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Salem International for a 4 p.m. match-up.
